Bus blues revisted

Bus blues revisted

Thanks to the driver of Brisbane Transport bus A508(or perhaps it was A503) who reminded me today of one of the many things that is wrong with the Queensland public transport system. It was about 12.20pm at the Normanby bus station when the woman in front of me hailed him, and he pulled over. She asked for a ticket and gave her destination. The driver rudely pointed out that he didn't go in the direction she wanted and indicated that he was annoyed to have been pulled over. She thought it was a 333 bus, but it was a 393. The mistake was easy to make because the destination boards on Brisbane buses are hard to read - especially in bright sunlight - and the station indicator which is supposed to display the next four services didn't include his bus. In fact, the next bus to arrive - which did go in the right direction - was the fourth on the list. What happened to the other three, we'll never know.

Brett Debritz: Holy molars! Am I ever glad I take good care of my teeth!
Brad Coward: True. You owe your life to dental hygiene.
