Don't walk this way

It's not only by crossing the road in Shanghai that pedestrians take their lives in the hand. Walking along the footpath (sidewalk/ pavement) is also fraught. Most journeys require a perilous detour because the path is blocked by something - often parked bikes or, as in this case, renovation or construction debris.
