The old George/ Lyceum Theatre in George Street is reopening on March 11 under the name Tribal Theatre. Films already programmed range from Casablanca to Pulp Fiction. Details here.

Checked their site: Six

Checked their site: Six bucks to watch a movie... How long has it been since you could get a movie for that price?

Going to a movie these days is a expensive experience, and if the Tribal offers good movies, people may just travel into the CBD for a bargain... that BCC/Event need to match.

Fantastic news. A vibrant

Fantastic news. A vibrant city needs small theatre experiences like this. Hopefully they have a wide and diverse program on offer.

Between this and the Globe Cinema (which is over-priced, but now free for 4ZzZ subscribers), Brisbane is finally regaining a cinema culture.

Hopefully they start bringing back the most hallowed of cult cinema traditions - the midnight movie.
