Austereo: an apology
Posted September 7th, 2010 by debritz
In my previous post, I wrote "Austereo's ... [online] strategy seems to be limited to posting Twitter links to US showbiz gossip". Thanks to the B105 Twitter feed below, I now realise some of their gossip comes from the UK. Of course, Google will show you that almost all these stories were covered elsewhere, earlier and in more depth. In my crazy world, the primary purpose of a radio station's website would be to make and pump its own original content, creating a sustainable, unique online destination to complement the broadcast product. Oh, yeah, and I wouldn't send the tweets all through at the same time; I'd at least try to create the impression that tweeting was something done thoughtfully and strategically throughout the day (and night) as stories break, not in a huge dump whenever it happens to be convenient. But, hey, what do I know?
Disclosure: Brett Debritz is no longer afiliated with any Brisbane radio station.
