Tales from Beijing

A few quick thoughts on the Chinese capital:
Even more so than Shanghai, Beijing appears to be one big construction site. The Olympic stadium and its surroundings are extremely impressive, but the workers are going to be very busy finishing off the landscaping. Even outside my hotel window I can see major repairs being done to a subway entrance (and hear the machinery they are using). I have no doubt it'll all be tickety-boo come August, though. The Great Wall is as impressive as it I thought it would be, and not easy to climb. More soon.
